Red Fabric, Vinegar & Kids

What does red fabric, vinegar and kids have in common? Keep reading to find out!

I pulled out some fabric this weekend to work on a small patriotic quilt for my craft swap.  I decided after the red fabric that I used colored my ironing board cover during the Christmas swap, I had to wash this.  I got a sink cleaned out and dumped in about half a bottle of vinegar and matched it with half water.

Here the fabric is soaking in the sink!  I am so glad I decided to treat the fabric before cutting and using it!

Look at all that red water!  I washed it too.   I can't wait to sew my project together and see what it looks like when it's all done!  I am so glad I didn't just use the fabric!  My ironing board would be red!

So while I was doing this my two little kids got a big green cup and decided to get a drink from the bathroom sink.  They were curious as to why the water was red and dipped their cup in and started sharing drinks!  Right off the bat my 7 year old came to me to tell me her lips were tingly and told me what they did. She did not like it! The 5 year old was another story!  I had to take away the cup!  He liked it and wanted  me to make him a drink!  GROSS!!  That finished the soaking & it went straight to the washer!

Have an awesome day whatever you are doing!

Happy Wednesday!  Halfway thru the work week!

Patterns

I went to JoAnn's because they are having their Daffodil Dash sale.  I'm not going to get into details of what is on sale, but I will tel you McCall brand patterns are a buck! Yes you read that right! A dollar!  How exciting!  I was in need of a skirt pattern till today.  I've been cruising Pintrest and have found nothing I would want to use.  I already have the fabric.  It was the rest of what was on the bolt, so I don't have much but want to make something fabulous other than the black skirts I wear every Sunday to church.

I haven't decided which one I am going to make yet. Probably the one on the far left.  Or maybe the other pattern on the far right on the top.  I haven't decided yet.  So many choices!!  I think the one on the right.  I have some fabric in mind for the one on the left.  I just am waiting for it to come on sale and to have the money at the same time!  Finances, UGH!

Okay what do you think; which one should I make?

PS the sale ends this Saturday!

Crafty Bag

Awesome!  I finished it!  Yay! I love how it turned out!  I love the fabric, the colors, the print, style. This was part of a Pintrest bag but as I said yesterday I got part way done and started to do my own thing on it.  It's kinda fancy and girly!  LOVE IT!  Now hopefully my daughter wont claim it as hers!  I hope my fellow craft swap group person loves it too!  I really hope so!

Here's a view from the inside!

I love how fancy it turned out!  A lot of work went into this. Here's another view of the bag.

I hope you like it.  Go here to find the link to the pattern. Go here for the Pintrest link to repin & like.  I think you will see the differences in the size, particularly the bottom.

Have you made anything from Pintrest lately? Successful projects or flops? Tell me about them.

Sewing Project - Bag/Purse

Hi There!  I've been working on one of my craft swap projects.  One of my ladies loves paisley. I fell in love with this remnant with a paisley pattern. Here's a sneak peak on how the project is turning out!  I hope she loves it!

I installed these grommets yesterday!  Never used them before!  I followed the directions, was kinda nervous!  It turned out awesome!  (Sorry no picture yet of them installed!)

The pattern I followed didn't have a pocket on the inside.  I made my own.

I have two of these handles to make.  It's quite time consuming. I have one left to finish.  Hopefully it will be done soon so I can sew the handles onto the bag! (The white fabric has paisley print too!)

Here's a peek at what the outside of the bag looks like!  This is about where I stopped following the pattern and did my own thing.  I really hope my craft receiver loves it!

I'm going to finish this up today and post pictures of it tomorrow!  I was just so excited to share it with you, I had to post!!

See you tomorrow with pictures of completion of the bag!!
